ChurchTrac or PraisePad?

For a church of 150 with an office to run and a worship team to lead.

ChurchTrac is the church office in one product, priced by the names it tracks: people, giving, check-in, events, fund accounting, basic messaging, worship planning, and a site and an app. PraisePad is one product by team size, with the worship team’s half (the stage, charts in any key, Present) beside the office modules. Here’s what each does better, what each costs, and whether to stay or switch.

From $14 a month for a team of 10. Free for invited churches during the beta.

What ChurchTrac does better

  • Church accounting in the same product, which PraisePad doesn’t have
  • One price by names tracked with every feature included, from $29 a month for 75 names
  • A website builder and app in the box; a build done for you from $477 once
  • Free people data migration when you join, and small groups
  • Yearly billing takes 10% off, and a 30-day trial

Not in PraisePad yet: accounting, Groups, an app in the stores.

What it costs

ChurchTrac, a team of 10

$59 a month for 250 names

Priced by the names tracked, not by team size, so a church of 150 pays the 250-name tier whatever its team’s size: 75 names $29 a month, 125 $39, 250 $59, 500 $79, 1,000 $99, unlimited $119; 10% off yearly. Enhanced Messaging (two-way texts, a dedicated number, 250 credits) is $7 a month more.

Bringing your songs over

  • Bring your people in from a spreadsheet: columns matched, families found, a review before anything is written, and undo
  • Your charts come in from PDFs, Word files or photos, read into typed charts you check before they’re saved
  • Giving records come in from your provider’s file, and PraisePad exports deposits by fund for QuickBooks or Aplos; the books stay in your accounting software

In the help: Import your church from a spreadsheet

Stay or switch?

Stay with ChurchTrac if accounting in the same product, a price by names and a site built for you are what you use most.

Move to PraisePad if your worship team needs the stage and slides built from the plan, you’d like a site with its own chat in Spanish too, and you’d rather pay by team size.

Questions

Is there a ChurchTrac alternative with real worship tools?

PraisePad has the office modules (people, giving, Kids check-in, events, the church site) and the worship team’s half ChurchTrac doesn’t have: a stage with typed charts in any key, playing together, and Present for the screens.

From the help: Change the key, or play with a capo

ChurchTrac vs Planning Center: where does PraisePad fit?

Planning Center prices nine products apart; ChurchTrac prices everything by names tracked; PraisePad prices by team size, $14 a month for a team of 10, with the stage and Present in it. Planning Center has a page of its own here.

From the help: Your plan, the 14-day trial, and the AI allowance

Does PraisePad do accounting like ChurchTrac?

No. PraisePad keeps the giving records (gifts, batches counted by two, statements, reports) and exports deposits by fund with each fund’s account and class for QuickBooks or Aplos. The books stay in your accounting software.

From the help: Exporting giving for QuickBooks, Aplos or a spreadsheet

Is PraisePad cheaper than ChurchTrac?

A church of 150 pays ChurchTrac $59 a month (the 250-name tier). The same church with a team of 10 pays PraisePad $14, with Present, Kids and Events free in the beta. A church with a big team and few names in its database can be cheaper on ChurchTrac. From churchtrac.com, read October 31, 2026.
